Carbon Monoxide Services In Fair Haven, MI

Why You Should Have a CO Test Done

Carbon monoxide, even in small amounts can cause serious health problems. Millions of unsuspecting home owners are exposed to low levels of CO and don’t even know it, since it is an invisible scentless gas. Our technicians have the best equipment to be able to test the air quality of your home to see if there are any possible leaks of CO. Carbon Monoxide can come from other sources around your house besides your heating equipment. They can come from your water heater, gas range, space heater, and even your attached garage.

Here at Tony’s Heating & Cooling we offer one of the best professional grade low-level CO monitors. It continuously scan for carbon monoxide 24/7. It has a digital display that show levels as low as 5ppm (parts per million) and will start alerting you when levels start to get any higher then 15ppm. Call the office today at 586-725-8669 to get more information.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • I have a CO Alarm in my house shouldn’t this warn me if there is a problem?

If you have purchased your alarm from a store, it will usually only warn you when CO levels have gotten to life threatening.

  • What level of carbon monoxide can be harmful?

According to the World Health Organization, 15-20ppm (parts per million) is the first level of CO that can affect us. Levels as low as 30ppm can start to cause heart problems. Most store-bought detectors don’t alert you until levels have reached 70ppm for over 3 hours.

  • Can’t I just call my gas company if I think I have a problem?

We highly recommend you call us first if you are having a Carbon Monoxide or gas leak. Gas companies are there to provide you with the fuel you need to run your appliances. They are verse in finding leaks, but their main business is not with appliance service.  They may be able to find the leak but not always knowledgeable on how to fix it. Most of the time they will just shut off your gas and have you call a company like ours to fix it.
